| So... as some of you may have seen by now, a few days ago i split my chin open... WIIIIDE open!!
I have a picture... you can see the bone. ewww gross!!
So it was right after tyhe glee club commencement concert and we went to sonia's house in norwich to have a little soiree. We were busy carrying stuff upstairs to clear the "dance floor" when i spotted her ab roller lying on the ground.
so i thought.. hmm... ab roller!! fun!! So i picked it up and proceeded to try to "workout" but i didnt knwo how to do it right. Instead of being on my knees like a normal person i tried to do it on my feet on the hardwood floor. So next thing you knwo the thing jets out from nider me and my face slams into the floor with a crunch. AAGH!!!
I grapped my chin and sat up immediately while a wave of somethign washed over me. I kindof passed otu and couldnt really hear anythign or see anythign fro a while. then when i started to come-to i was shaking and couldnt stay still and it sounded like i was underwater.
everyone disappeared and came back with ice and worried looks. I finally took my hand away form my chin and saw blood all over it. so i said " sonia... i think i'm bleeding..."
sonia took a look and tried (very well in fact) to stay calm even thgouh she had just seen a hige canyon in my skin.
so i tried to wash up but the blood was flowing out like a river and splashing all over the white porcelain sink. Sonia said she thgouht we shoudl go to the hospital and let them chack it out and i might need stitches. It wasnt till many horus later that i realised how bad it was. I thoguth maybe we shoudl just go to Dick's house and get a bandaid... but there was a huge gash in my chin and there is no way that would have healed up on its own without a lot of scarring and infection
so we went to DHMC and got through the emergency room very quickly... just over an hour! the lady there was nice and asked me about my japanese name. And evidentally the skin looks really cool when they are sewing it up with the needle for stitches. I think soina cringed more than i did watching them clean it out and everything.
so... 5 stitches and two days later, i'm doing ok. still on a lot of advil but atleast its nto bleeding and oozing as much as it was yesterday... i get the stitches out on wednesday... woo hoo!! skin is so amazing... who whould have thunk it can heal in only 5 days!! (one for each stitch i guess...)
thank goodness for modern technology (haha)
atleast i get to wear more "jewelry" now. I have all these pretty hello kitty bandaids i got with sparkes and stuff. Except it looks kindof like a beard at times...
plus my skin is bright red like a tomato because i sat outside at graduation for glee club and didnt realise i needed sunscreen... woo hoo sunburns!! too bad the rest of my body is still all pasty-white.
if you want cool pictures of my chin bone, just blitz me!! you can see for yourself how big the gash was!!

| Wow. What an amazing week!!
I never would have dreamed that this last wekk of all weeks would be the best i can remember. I had two midterms and a paper due and in one of the classes I hadnt done any of the reading and the other was my first art history test ever.
But i pulled my paper together in the last two hours and did great on the tests!! I studied my ass of for art history and knew all the slides and guessed the unknown painings' artists correctly!
And eve thoguh i hadnt read any of the Japanese stuff, I think i did great on the test! My friend and i started studying at 11 at night, went to bed at 2 and woke up at 6, contunued to study till 11 when our test was. We studied all the right stuff and did so well!! and Friday was so gorgeous outside! We went to the bookstore and bought all these great art books and then went to FoxTails, this really cute store on Mainstreet where they have really pretty flowers.
What else... oh! Today I got a complemet from this person who is normally very criticizing and mean to me. I was so surprised!! Adn on Tuesday I got free ice cream at Ben and Jerrys for free cone day
AND... I got a $400 award for my art project proposal!!! I am so psyched. I'm gonna be doing these three-dimentional paintings on stacked layers of plexiglas. Woo hoo!!!
And friday i went shopping with my friend who i hardly see anymore because she doesnt live by me anymore, and we bought wigs and costume stuff for gatsby. and last night was gatsby and it was so much fun! We looked totally 20s and took all these great pictures in color and black and white. and i jumped on the trampoline, and went to the tomb room and met all kinds of fun people, like this guy from holland and the NEtherland and this other guy from London. I tried to talk with a brittish accent and he just laughed at me. He wouldnt even try to do an american accent thoguh, so who REALLY had the last laugh, eh?
i guess thats all. bu the weather thsi week has been just amazing.. it has been good enough to make this week perfect just in and of itself. The coulds were amazing on Saturday. I just lay out for an hour and watched them float by
And i get to meet the poet guy tuesday... cant wait!!
| Woo hoo!!!
I just found out thursday that i get to be the uga for the International house next year!! I'm so excited (lets hope this excitment doenst wan too quicky when i actually have responsibilities next year)
i would tell you all to apply to live here next fall, but the deadline is past already. but you know what? i think there is a late deadline as well
so all you 07s with crappy housing numbers, it is not too late to save your soul from the uncertainty of the waitlist! apply to be in brewster and live with *me*!
p.s. alan is on campus and i was totally shocked to see him! and danny and archie too! its so fun.
p.p.s. i love how dartmouth is trying to make prospie weekend as unrealistic as possible to try to lure them in. examples: 1)french food in food court 2)re-vamping of the hop cafe 3)some strange logging event out on the green what the heck are they doing?
| AREA SHOW!!!
you guys should all come to the AREA show opening tomorrow. its the senior major's show, so it *should* be good (who knows with the majors these days though...)
there will be shirts for sale there for $10... printed by *yours truly*! they are yellow with black printing and little pictures by the senior majors on the back. on the front there is a funny poem
in further news, i LOVE my painting class... have i already said this like a gagillion times? it feel like it... but its so true! i got in these new water-soluble oils and an acrylic painting medium that *actually* slows down the drying time of my acrylics, so now its so mcuh easier and fun to work!
yay for good terms and good friends!
| whoa! so the term is heating up! i had my first p.e. class ever yesterday... pilates. And i've been working out at the gym. My abs are so sore!! but it serves them right... they need to shrink, yo!
i love my classes this term thoguh, which is great. i love loving my classes!! i jsut have to be careful not to get behind int he reading... which will be tough because the stuff for japanese seems kindof pointless since he just kindof spoon-feeds us anything we need to know from the reading. its almost like highschool... but easier!
also, there is this new studio art scholarship for sophomore majors. i have to write up a project proposal... i'm so excited! i would love to do this project with plexiglass and building solid cubes to make 3D paintings... i hope i get the grant!!
